But first, I’d like to talk about more collab videos between Detective Conan and Yaiba characters.
Yaiba: Who’re you?
Conan: Conan Edogawa… a detective!
Yaiba: I’m Yaiba Kurogane… a samurai!
Yaiba: What’s a detective? Can you eat it?
Conan: Oh, boy…
Onimaru: I am the Demon King Onimaru!
Kogoro: Demon King? I’m the Sleeping Sleuth Kogoro!
Onigata: Why would a detective be sleeping on the job?
Kogoro: The deductions just come clearer to me that way!
Onigata: I don’t get it…

第一発見者でもあるガイドさんの案内で、事件現場の鹿児島の縄文杉のところへ行くことに。 途中でかかしを発見して、“山姫伝説”のお話を聞いたんだ。 ようやく現場に着いた時、誰かに追われてるみたいな様子の人が崖から落ちていく現場を見たんだ! その人は被害者のお友達で、「山姫」と呟くと気を失ってしまって…!? TVオリジナルご当地ミステリー 「屋久島の山姫(後編)」このあとすぐ!

With help from the guide that discovered the body, we went to the murder scene by the Jomon tree. On our way there, we found a scarecrow and heard the tale of the Yamahime. When we finally arrived, we saw a person who seemed to be chased by someone fall of a cliff! It was the victim’s friend, and right before they fainted, they whispered, “Yamahime”.

Kasumi really went all out to match the Yamahime’s story. Feel bad for Ran having to come on this little excursion after hearing about the tale. She’s never been a fan of ghosts and stuff because she can’t hit them. Luckily this one is solid enough for her to hit.
Was not expecting for Ran to be struggle against someone in martial arts. It’s nice to get to see her fight someone every once in a while, though.
Other than the stalker Yuji, I expected it to be Kasumi. Just didn’t she’d be crazy enough to put herself in that much danger to clear her name but now here we are (;^ω^). On another note, how did she slip out of the hospital and get up the mountain so easily🤔.
Thought that Ran was remembering her face from the picture, but Kasumi plays in those power ranger shows. That tracks with her martial arts and taking less fall damage. The fact that Ran still watches Super Sentai shows is kind of cute. But that motive…
Couldn’t there have been a better motive than the 泥棒猫 (homewrecker) trope? They weren’t even together so I don’t get how Yoshimi could take something that Kasumi never had to begin with. Besides the engagement was called off between them, so wasn’t that Kasumi’s chance?
I did like the detail of the watch getting broken.
And Kogoro came in clutch, so the trio got some screen time in this two-parter. Considering Ran was struggling in the fight perhaps she can learn some Judo from her dad. After this trip to Yakushima, I think they deserve a good rest.
Next Episode is…
A sequel to episode 976. That episode was kind of bizarre.
Even had a Blues Brothers reference. Wonder what they will pull this time.
